英思科公司的历史可以追溯到美国国家矿业服务公司的研发部(Research Division of National Mine Service Company(NMS)),气体的检测仪。1985年1月,这个开发部改制成英思科公司。

Headquartered in an advanced ISO 9001:2000-certified facility near the Pittsburgh International Airport, Industrial Scientific provides equipment that is used for safety and industrial hygiene in potentially dangerous locations. Principal markets for the Company’s products include oil refineries, oil exploration and drilling operations including offshore rigs, underground mining and tunneling, utilities including telephone, electric, natural gas, water and wastewater treatment facilities, municipal agencies such as police, fire and hazardous response units, government regulatory agencies such as EPA, OSHA, and MSHA, insurance companies, and food and beverage-processing companies.
The company started in 1976 as the Research Division of National Mine Service Company (NMS) with a focus on developing instrumentation to detect methane gas. In 1985 NMS sold the division, and Industrial Scientific Corporation began independent operations on January 25, 1985.
With continuous investments in research and engineering design, the instrument family grew to include patented technologies and state-of-the-art designs. Industrial Scientific became the name for the most rugged and dependable gas instrumentation on the market.
On June 30, 1993, the company had its initial public stock offering, and was traded on the NASDAQ exchange for almost 6 years. Based on the commitment to doing the right things for the right reasons, the stock was removed in 1999 from public trading. As a private company Industrial Scientific is better able to concentrate on the intensive, long-range research programs needed in their industry.
The Company’s products range from hand-held / portable instruments capable of monitoring from one to six gases, to permanently installed systems capable of monitoring many different gases in hundreds of locations from a central monitoring station. The products carry third-party intrinsic safety and performance approvals including ATEX/CENELEC, UL, MSHA, CSA, and bear the CE mark.
Through technical breakthroughs and perseverance in product development, Industrial Scientific has released tremendously innovative products, including the Docking Station® , GasBadge™ Plus and GasBadge™ Pro Single Gas Monitors, MX6 iBrid™ and iTX Multi-Gas Monitors, iTrans™ single or dual fixed-point monitors and the WIT (Wireless Information Transmission) Systems fixed gas detection product line. In 1999, the Docking Station™ revolutionized the gas detection industry by automating the calibration, instrument diagnostics, record-keeping and recharging of portable gas monitors. As the pioneer of this ground-breaking technology, Industrial Scientific took this concept even further in November of 2004 by introducing the iNet Instrument Network™ – a total cost of ownership program that eliminates the most cost-intensive and time-consuming tasks involved with managing a gas monitor fleet.
Combining the two-way communication technology of Industrial Scientific's DS2 Docking Station™ and the capabilities of the Internet, iNet continually monitors for conditions such as low, empty or expired calibration gas, marginal or failed sensors, and days since last calibration. Weekly e-mail reports are sent on the status of the instrument fleet and immediate reports are sent when a problem is detected. A number of options are available to handle any service requirement based on an end-user's individual needs. Should a malfunction occur, iNet automatically dispatches an on-site service visit, replacement monitor or new part depending on the service program selected. Industrial Scientific’s rapidly growing service network also aims to reduce the downtime of instrumentation and the need to send equipment off-site for repair.
