The kit is formatted for the purification of total DNA (genomic and mitochondrial) from 1 – 400 μL whole blood sample. Samples are first lysed in a high salt solution in the presence of a protease then bound to magnetic beads. The samples are then washed to remove contaminants and PCR inhibitors and eluted in a low salt buffer. The whole procedure takes only 40 minutes to complete. The reagent kit of purified DNA can be applied to all kinds of routine operation, including enzyme, PCR, library construction, Southern hybridization.
